The Sustainable Communities Bill has become law. The campaign had cross party support and was won by local people putting pressure on their MPs.

It means that every Council will have to submit suggestions on ways to make our community more sustainable. Rother District Council has a legal duty to set up citizens’ panels to get these ideas and the government has a legal duty to co-operate on deciding on what action needs to be taken.
